About SaveProof

SaveProof helps you keep a verifiable record that a note and files existed in a specific form no later than the recorded time. Create a Proof, save the resulting file, and share it when needed.

How to create a Proof

Add a note and files

Write or paste a note: an agreement, a description of your work, a letter, or other text you want to record. Attach files if needed.

You can use a note, files, or both. Before creating a Proof, check the text, the included files, and their order.

Your note and files are processed on your device. SaveProof does not receive their contents.

Choose access to the content

Open Certificate
Choose this when the recipient should be able to read the note and open the files immediately. Anyone holding the resulting file can read its contents. No account is required.
Protected Certificate
Choose this to encrypt the contents and set conditions for opening them. The public Proof can be verified before the contents are disclosed. Creation requires an account.

Open does not mean publishing your files on the website. You save and share the result yourself.

You may add a Proof name. It is public on the Verification Page and cannot be changed after creation. Do not include information you want to keep private.

Set up protection if needed

For a Protected Certificate, choose when the contents can be opened.

Immediate Release
Anyone holding the file can request access immediately while deliveries remain available. You may also add an Encryption Passphrase.
Manual Release
Share the file in advance and allow opening later with one action in your account. This permission applies to all holders of the file and cannot be undone.
Scheduled Release
Make the contents available from a chosen date and time. Choose a time at least 15 minutes ahead. After creation, this time cannot be changed.
Renewable Hold
Keep extending the deadline to keep the contents closed. If the deadline passes, holders of the file can request access.
Additional settings
  • Encryption Passphrase. Even when the access conditions are met, the contents cannot be opened without the passphrase. SaveProof never receives it and cannot recover it.
  • Delivery limit. Limits new successful online access requests across all copies, devices, and recipients. Failed or premature requests do not use the limit. Content already received can be saved and shared further.
  • Cancel Future Release. Available for Scheduled Release and Renewable Hold if allowed during creation. You can cancel before the scheduled time or deadline. Cancellation is permanent and cannot revoke content already received.
  • File format. Leave Automatic selected to choose PDF or .saveproof by size. You can choose .saveproof explicitly if needed.

A new access request needs a connection to SaveProof. Meeting the conditions does not send the contents automatically: the recipient needs the file and the passphrase, if one was set.

Create the Proof and save the file

Review the content and settings, then create the Proof. Keep the resulting PDF or .saveproof file somewhere safe. It includes the Certificate and your content, readable or encrypted according to your choice.

Make sure the file has been saved on your device. SaveProof does not keep a copy of your note and files.

Check the registration messages. Saving a file alone does not confirm registration. If the service offers a registration retry, keep the file and complete that action before closing the page.

Choose the saved file on Verify to check the Proof and its available content.

Share the file when needed

Send the saved file to the recipient in your preferred way. If you added a passphrase, share it separately.

The recipient chooses the file on Verify. Protected content opens when the access conditions are met, a delivery is available, and the passphrase is entered if required. Reopening with authorization already received does not use a new delivery.

The Verification Page link lets you check the public Proof record. The saved file is needed to obtain the content itself.

A Proof records content and time. It does not prove authorship, ownership, truthfulness, identity, or legal validity.

Private by design. SaveProof records the Proof without storing your content.
