1. Agreement and eligibility
By using SaveProof, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use SaveProof for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. SaveProof is a free service operated by a private individual. You can contact the operator at privacy@saveproof.app.
2. What SaveProof provides
SaveProof creates a signed record that a particular Document Fingerprint was registered no later than a recorded time. It also provides local Certificate creation and verification, public Verification Pages, optional accounts, and optional Protected Packages with Release Policies.
Ordinary PDFs and ordinary SaveProof Packages include readable originals and any recorded note. Anyone with a copy can read and extract them. Use protection when you need encrypted content. SaveProof retains only Proof metadata, not a recoverable copy of your file. A local save does not confirm registration: if registration is unavailable, keep the completed file and retry the same Proof from the current tab. Exact file matching with the registry is separate from signature and content verification.
Attachment ZIP export creates a local convenience copy of verified originals. It excludes the note and Proof records and does not replace the original Certificate or SaveProof Package for verification. A ZIP exported after opening protected content is unencrypted; you are responsible for keeping and sharing that copy.
Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. You are responsible for keeping your Certificate, Protected Package, original content, and any Encryption Passphrase needed for future use.
3. What a Proof does not prove
A Proof confirms SaveProof registration and integrity. It does not prove authorship, ownership, identity, consent, truthfulness, legal validity, or that the person creating the Proof had rights in the content. A SaveProof confirmation is not a legal electronic signature and SaveProof does not provide legal, notarial, archival, or professional advice.
4. Accounts
Google sign-in is optional for ordinary Proof creation and verification but is required for owner-controlled Protected Package features. You are responsible for the security of your Google account and active SaveProof sessions. An account is an access control mechanism and is not proof of authorship or identity.
Deleting an account removes the Google profile data stored by SaveProof, its sessions, and owner controls. It does not revoke a public Proof or change an established Release Policy. You must review and, where available, explicitly use Manual Release or Cancel Future Release before deleting the account if that is the outcome you want.
5. Protected Packages
You must review the selected Release Policy before creating a Protected Package. A Manual Release is global and irreversible; after release, any holder of the matching package may request the SaveProof factor. Scheduled Release and Renewable Hold decisions are also governed by their signed deadlines and cannot recover content already released. Cancel Future Release is not revocation.
SaveProof cannot recover an Encryption Passphrase or a Protected Package that you lose. A Key Release Event confirms only that SaveProof released its part of the unlock material; it does not prove that anyone read, downloaded, or retained the content.
If available, access notifications require sign-in and explicit subscription consent. They report policy eligibility or cancellation, not that anyone opened the content. Delivery is best effort and does not reserve an online delivery or request a Release Secret. Keep the matching package and any Encryption Passphrase; an exhausted delivery limit or unavailable release service can still prevent opening.
6. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- use SaveProof only for lawful purposes;
- avoid creating misleading claims about what a Proof establishes;
- avoid interfering with, probing, overloading, or bypassing the service and its access controls;
- avoid using SaveProof to facilitate fraud, harassment, malware, unlawful surveillance, or infringement of another person's rights; and
- avoid placing secrets or personal data in public identifiers, public Proof metadata, or other intentionally public fields.
You remain responsible for the content you process locally and for obtaining any rights or permissions needed to use, keep, or share it.
7. Public records and service integrity
Verification IDs are public identifiers, not secrets. Public Proof records and historical Public Keys may remain available to preserve verifiability. The operator may restrict abusive access, revoke sessions, or suspend owner controls when reasonably necessary for security, law, or service integrity, but must not alter signed Proof semantics or pretend that an unreleased secret was revoked after delivery.
8. Intellectual property
These terms do not transfer ownership of your content to SaveProof. You grant only the rights needed to process the Document Fingerprint and approved metadata, operate the service, and publish the public Proof record you request. SaveProof software, branding, and service materials remain subject to their applicable ownership and open-source license terms.
9. Availability, warranties, and liability
SaveProof is currently provided free of charge and on an as-available basis. The operator does not promise uninterrupted availability or that a Proof will satisfy a particular court, regulator, counterparty, or evidentiary rule. You should keep independent copies of all files needed to verify or open a result.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Any monetary cap, exclusions, and these terms remain subject to mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Changes, disputes, and contact
Updated terms should be posted with a new effective date. Material changes should be announced before they apply when reasonably possible. Applicable mandatory law and conflict-of-law rules determine the law and forum for a dispute. Contact privacy@saveproof.app before starting a formal claim so there is an opportunity to resolve the issue informally.
